Members of the FBI in Haiti
Members of the FBI, the State Department, the United States Department of Justice and the United States Department of Homeland Security arrived in Haiti on Sunday and met with the director general of the national police.
This assassination worsened the institutional crisis in which Haiti had already been plunged for months and which today leads three politicians to claim to be legitimate to ensure power by interim.
The delegation of the United States met in separate meetings with the main actors of the political scene, including Prime Minister Claude Joseph.
“I met the American delegation and together we appreciated the resolution of the Senate which chose me as provisional President of the Republic”, for his part said Sunday evening on Twitter Joseph Lambert, President of the Senate.
Four days after the assassination of the Head of State, a precarious calm persists in Haiti given the gray areas surrounding this murder committed in the room of Jovenel Moïse, in his private residence yet under high surveillance. No Haitian police were injured during the operations to apprehend the alleged Colombian mercenaries, three of whom were killed.
